9.1 PRE COMMISSIONING CHECKS
Having completed the installation the following checks should be made before the system is switched ON:
9.2 COMMISSIONING PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT
The Solar Pump must not be operated without the Filter Pump also operating. This is achieved by plugging both the Solar Pump and the Filter Pump into the sockets within the controller .
(i) If necessary, the Solar Pump can be switched off and the Filter Pump run by itself but the Solar Pump must never be operated without the Filter Pump.
(ii) The Solar Pump must be switched off when the valve settings on the filtration unit are adjusted.
To test the operation of the system a minimum of three hours must be allowed for the Strip Adhesive to set. (HYDROMAX ONLY)
(ii) Plug the Filter and Solar Pump into the power outlets of the controller.
(iii) Switch controller to "Manual". The Filter and Solar Pumps should now turn on regardless of the weather conditions.
(iv) Switch controller to "Automatic"
(v) Set the desired water temperature (refer section 8.4 ). The pumps should turn on when the Collector Array Sensor is warmer than the Pool Sensor. The controller light should indicate when power is available to the pumps. The controller will shut the pumps down if there is insufficient solar energy to raise the pool temperature.
(vi) Switch the controller back to "Manual" so that both pumps are operating and check the entire system for leaks. Repair where necessary.
The system should only be operated for as long as it takes to check all of the connections for leaks.
To allow the Strip Adhesive to set properly the client should be advised not to run the system for 24 hours after installation. (HYDROMAX ONLY)
9.3 STRIP CONNECTION LEAK REPAIR ON HYDROMAX SYSTEMS
A Leak Repairer (P/No. 109703) is used where a leak occurs around a Terminator Pin position on a Header Section or Absorber Strip Joiner. As the components are glued together they cannot be removed. Where there is a leak the Absorber Strip is cut back square to the Terminator Pins. The Leak Repairer is then joined to the Header Section over the cut back Absorber Strip and a new section of Absorber Strip is then glued to the Leak Repairer.
A Leak Repairer can be used where Absorber Strip is glued to a Header Section, Strip joiner or another Leak Repairer. See diagram below.

Complete the right hand side of the Installation Report which forms part of the Warranty Agreement found at the back of the Owner's Manual. This should be completed with the client.
Explain the operation of the system to the client and draw attention to the IMPORTANT NOTES in the Owner's Manual. Remove the white, blue and yellow copies of the Installation Report from the Owner's Manual and hand the manual to the client.
